CHARACTERS AVAILABLE
ONE TAVERN AND THREE SHIPS

Hanged Man Resort

Kathrin Esposito - MONIQUE O.
A bar maid, a wench, a tease and a stabbity lady of the Hanged Man Resort. Usually carrying a skillet to whack at unbecoming patrons and a knife for those who would get the message after too many beer tankards. She knows of everyone and their little dark secrets, and probably has more then a few skeletons dug deep into her closet.

Mary Brasiliano - OPEN
Once the honorable wife of a proud working man, now a bitter widow with a roof over her head. Recently joining the staff of the Hanged Man to serve all those sea-faring scoundrels some beer and food. Better not cross her if you don't want a filthy pot flying your way! Lively and more then a bit crazy, she has very "Modern" ideals about the place of a woman in society… and sadly for the drunkards, she tends to voice them out loud.

H'ose Boil - OPEN
Probably the least stable of the Hanged Man Tavern’s staff - Big. Brawly, noisy and quite the one to both start and end bar-brawls. A former first mate (or at least so he claims to be) and a prevalent tale-teller that usually annoys everyone with unending aspirations and very little actions in their directions. A stout drinker and a proficient bouncer. Also, H’esus older, less savory brother.

H'esus Boil – OPEN
H'esus boil could be considered the goody-two-shoes brother in his family. Relatively well educated (he can read!) and remembers most of the prayers every Sunday. He is still a believing man, after meeting just about every form of debauchery. Well mostly believing and also heavily drinking! After enough fights and brawls, H'esus has a name of tough wrestler, able to bring down the most rabid sailor with his meaty punches.

Gomez - ADAM FUQUA
Bagger, vagrant, vagabond, sailor, stinking scoundrel and all around con-man down on his luck - Gomez would like nothing more then just get the hell out of Tortuga but then again, he’s down on his luck. Unshaved, uneven and probably quite crazy - the owner usually uses him to read letters written in Latin or just odd pieces of poetry that pirates bring about from their journeys. Where did he learn all of that? Another story, another mystery.

The Pink Rose

Captain "Red" Anne – VANNIE TAN
The stone cold, fearless leader of the Pink Rose. Notorious for being a crazy woman on a ship ruled by amazons. Oh, and she's rumored to be less then kind to prisoners. But then again, she's a pirate. Hardly someone to go around, most other pirates know her by name but not by face. Captains do not, repeat, do not, want to meet that gal face to face when given the choice. But she knows something and she arrived to this mess, well now everyone has to deal with this temper as well!

First Mate Rosseta O'Hara - RIA REGIS (to be confirmed)
A mate for a life time, that brave lady had more fights under her belt then most men has stories about ships. Not quite the gibbering cutthroat, yet Rosseta had enough time at the open sea to leave her own name at the very survivors of Anne's wrath. Most won't speak of the dreaded first mate of the Pink Rose, and even less would be willing to say how she looks like. If nobody wants to meet a pirate, they'd name Rosseta as a good reason to avoid such encounters.

Navigator Linda Martin – OPEN
Sharpest attitude on the ship and that says something among the pirating Pink Rose, the navigator is the singly most annoyed person around. Despising all that she had left back in the British Isles and being a loudmouth about it. Speaking of loudmouth, she's probably the single most dirty-talking pirate that ever set-sailed in the seven sea! And taking pride at that, too.

Pirate Ranya – ROSELLE
So what takes a slave lady from somewhere in the black continent and makes her a vicious, head-scalping pirate turned vile? Well there be a story behind it and she ain't telling. Showing up in the company of Roesseta O'hara one day and staying on the ship ever since as the cook of the decks. Odd accent, odd eyes, black skin and shaved head. That scary lady usually walks around with her various cooking instruments… all sorts of hooked knives and sharp things. Won't tell what they are for, too.

Pirate Bonny Brown – CHIQUI PEREZ
Every ship needs its odd case. Well, on the Pink Rose they have Bonny Brown. No mean feat being the lunatic in the crew of raving sailors. However it seems that a tiny, yet good dose of quicksilver in the madhouse shelter sent this bickering Amazon over the board and far into the deep edge. Rough, tough, speaking to herself and others that may or may not be around. The Crew treats her like a good luck charm, more then anything else.

The Midas

Captain Loui D'umare – TOM MATIC
The Frenchman of high birth, a lofty person with too much money for a regular pirate. Known to have the best ship and crew that money can buy and probably have the best cannons you can find. Now if only he would rid from that annoying parrot… Nobody knows what brings the rich man to such an armpit of hell, but he is rumored to have a very good reason, and the army of mercenaries to back it.

First Mate Pier "BlueBeard" – MATTHEW
The best mate your money can buy guaranteed! Wearing his beard blue for the sake of legends he had heard from some local shaman and preferring to spit at the notion of a woman on board of a ship, this cynical bastard had seen the seven seas and would take you to the eight if you'd only pay him enough. There aren't enough words to describe this crooked piece of work. A mercenary to end.

Navigator Thomas Van'Hell - OPEN
Grim and grimy, someone that rarely speaks out loud and always, but always, smells like he just went out of a pickle jar. Why? Nobody knows. This silent Dutch was hired to work for the Midas and joined the crew almost like a joke against nature. Nobody knows him too well, but the Spanish accent he slips into every once in a while makes some people ponder about his story.

Pirate Conor O'Conor - OPEN
Don't you dare call him Spudlover! This pirate has been all over the place, probably traveled most of the Philippines for one reason or another though he rarely talk about all too much. He still keeps a few tokens from the old home of his family but he hates being reminded of his northern island ancestry. This grim sailor had did his career from being off shore, not down the potato fields!

Danielle Hardings - TAKEN
This handsome young chap was the latest recruit into the service of the Midas, wearing those thick, long sleeved shirts and making sure to sneeze every once in a while. A pirate's life for him? Hard to know, he barely drinks the beer! But the crew seems to like him none the less, and he smells a lot better then Pickled Thomas!
The Highwind

Captain Kaje Hawk – HANK PALENZUELA

Free wheeling, free booting, "colorful" comes to mind when speaking of that little pearl of insanity. Kaje has seen it all, been there, done that and got two scars to sport from that fight against the kraken. Or so he tells whenever someone lets him. Not known to shut his yap. Some of his stories are even true, since he had crossed just about every major power in the islands. A living, though widely hated, legend.

First Mate She Nye Kaola - OPEN
An opium dealer gone rouge and acting now as a first mate at the Highwind – not known to talk too much, he's a decent sailor and a stellar trader. Mostly because he has all the contacts you can think about. Some say he came with Kaje because he was the only person to outwit him. Or it might just another story by the famous vagabond.

Navigator Michelle D'umare – PRINCESS S.
Runaway princess, so the crew calls her. But still one of the best navigators around, as well as wench of high renown around to not take lip from anyone. She's as gaudy and loud as any of the pirates in the ship, if not more then most. Known as "Steel Stomach" For the amounts of beer she consumes. Good with the sword too, even if she fights like a French.

Pirate Mary Lockheart – KAREN KUNAWICZ
A colonialist Madam that had left Spain after too many years in the choking spot and joined Kaje's lunatics on an act of a whim. A pretty, crazy gal with a taste for the finer things in life and said to do most anything for the right sum of money. Hates to be order about and likes to order other people about. Some rumor she had dealings with all sorts of types before fleeing the mainland.

Pirate Mark Soi'er – MIKE
Red skinned, oddly accented Cyclops that one eyed native American is just the touch needed to make the loony crew of Kaje Hawk complete. Hugely superstitious, with hands bloodies enough to make up for not scalping any bastard. All that aside, he has the most impressive collection of tattoos on this side of Tortuga, and he likes to show it off!

BACKGROUNDER FROM NAVOT:

About LARP in general:
The Role Playing Game is a actually a process of writing a play, in which the players take an integral part in the creation of the plot and character development. While some games take place only in the players imagination, and the description of the landscapes as well as the actions done by the characters are being verbally described to the players like a story, there is another kind; this kind is called Live Action Role Playing Game, and in this kind the players portray their character in full - like if it was a theater show.

Much like improvisation theater, Role Playing Games do not have a written script, the end point is undefined and the plot grows within specific guidelines from the actions of the players, but there is a major difference between the theater and Role Playing Games: Role Playing Games do not include "acting" and the players merge with their character and become an indispensable part from the game world. Thus, while in a theater play there is a very clear definition between the audience and the actors, in a Role Playing Game, every player is an active participant in the plot unfolding before him and he or she must reach catharsis on their own, and not through observation and sympathy to the stage-bound turmoil , but from his own experience.
(This article has been taken from Dafi Bergman - an active Roleplayer in the Israely LARP scene - with her premission and blessing)

About this particular LARP -
A single night in Tortuga, enjoying some time offshore just to spend the loot and claim some booty. Pirates, scoundrels, lucky-goers and outright bums in a single evening of debauchery. It be the celebration for BlackBeards sinking to Davy-Jon's locker and a time for negotiations for Pirates.
So raise your tankers and voices - the Three Ships of the most fearsome pirates of the Philippines came ashore at the same time to discuss the single most important thing in the seven seas.
Treasure.
With the swords out of the business and with troubled crews aching for both beer and loot... and of course, all of you pirates came there for your own reasons as well, good, ill or just outright crazy.

Enjoy your stay at the Hanged Man Tavern, make sure it won't be your last

Yes the new pirates do that.

Do you know I still can name all 3 April Boys? VINGO JIMMY and REGINO

But I think the game takes place in the 18th century so
I think it would be gold and such.

Oh my Tom...you would have to ask Navot Ram about that. Please add him up on Facebook or scrawl something on the event Plank?

I would personally like to meet with him this Wednesday so I can ask about my character too. Let's keep in touch?

Di ba? And I didn't peek into Google for the April Boy answers.

I just don't know what "bonel" is. They have this song called Ye Ye Bonel...And of course I can also do the "Di Ko Kayang Tanggapin" choreography.

How's that for a pirate? Don't know much about pirate history but can sit down with you and discuss the April Boys over the bottle of rum.

Just never knew why they broke up though.
